The line-up for the Budapest 2025 European University Volleyball Championship is finalised

Budapest, Hungary is set to welcome Europe’s top university volleyball teams as the 17th European Universities Volleyball Championship takes place from July 27 to August 3, 2025. The event will feature 15 men’s and 16 women’s teams competing for continental title.
The competition is organized under the European University Sports Association (EUSA), and the championship is hosted by the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) and its sports club, TFSE.
The championship will take place at two venues including the Dr. Koltai Jenő Sports Centre at TF’s campus, and the Budai Ciszterci Szent Imre Secondary School.
Participating teams will arrive on July 26, with the opening ceremony scheduled for July 27. Competitive matches will run through the week, with finals and the closing ceremony on August 3.
The tournament will feature 15 men’s and 16 women’s teams from across Europe. A total of 15 countries are represented, with 27 different universities participating in the competition.
Hungary will feature 2 men’s and 2 women’s teams, respectively: the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Hungarian University of Sports Science (men) and Hungarian University of Sports Science, Corvinus University of Budapest (women).
Germany is represented by five teams including University of Rostock in both men’s and women’s categories, while Portugal, Croatia, Hungary, and Germany all have teams in both men's and women's competitions, joined by contenders such as Fenerbahce University, University of Bologna, University of Bergen, and University of Valencia.
In the men’s competition, the University of Rostock, which was the winner of the EUSA Games in 2024, is considered one of the favourites to win the tournament.
