Venues ready to host the Budapest 2025 European University Volleyball Championship

Budapest’s modern Dr. Koltai Jenő Sports Centre, along with the Budai Ciszterci Szent Imre Secondary School’s gym, will host the 2025 European Universities Volleyball Championship, offering excellent conditions for athletes and spectators as well.

The 17th European Universities Volleyball Championship takes place in Budapest, Hungary from July 27 to August 3, 2025.

The competition is organized under the European University Sports Association (EUSA), and the tournament is hosted by the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) and its sports club, TFSE.

The focal point of the Budapest 2025 European University Volleyball Championship is the Dr. Koltai Jenő Sports Centre, which opened to the public in September 2023. This modern sports hall, located on the campus of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), boasts two full-size courts separated by a movable partition—ideal for hosting simultaneous matches—and seating for over 1,300 spectators. Designed with efficiency in mind, it includes locker rooms capable of accommodating eight teams at once. Most of the matches will be held on a split court, only the finals will take place on the centre court.

A secondary venue sits just a 10-minute public transport ride away: the Budai Ciszterci Szent Imre Secondary School sports hall. Structured across two levels, it features one court designated for official competition and another for training sessions. This design allows seamless transitions between practice and play, supporting a smooth tournament flow.

These venues reflect thoughtful planning: the Dr. Koltai Jenő Centre offers a premier environment with ample capacity and modern amenities; the two schools provide flexible, high-quality spaces for competition and training. Their proximity to one another—and to central campus services including catering, accreditation, and living quarters—ensures logistical efficiency and a cohesive atmosphere for athletes and spectators alike.

The tournament will feature 15 men’s and 16 women’s teams from across Europe. A total of 15 countries are represented, with 27 different universities participating in the competition.
