Volunteers at the European Universities Volleyball Championship 2025

More than 150 volunteers will ensure the smooth running of the European Universities Volleyball Championship 2025 to be held at the Hungarian University of Sports Science, Budapest.

The 17th European Universities Volleyball Championship will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from July 27 to August 3, 2025. Organized under the auspices of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), the tournament is hosted by the 100-year-old Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) in collaboration with its sports club, TFSE.

At this prominent event, which takes place at two venues and features a total of 15 men’s and 16 women’s teams, the Volunteer and Sustainability Office of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS), led by Dr Szilvia Perényi, plays a key role. The office is responsible for coordinating the efforts of 150 dedicated volunteers who will help ensure the smooth operation of the tournament over the course of eight days.

Volunteers will be active across ten functional areas, including competition management, transport and transfers, ceremonies, side events, marketing, team assistance, and accreditation.

The Hungarian volunteer team is impressively diverse, with participants ranging from high school students to retirees – one of whom is 88 years old and a regular contributor at HUSS-coordinated sporting events. In total, volunteers from 20 different countries will take part in delivering the European Universities Volleyball Championship.
